Heidi Dumas, FNP-C, CTP  is an exemplary lifelong learner.  She started her nursing career in 1991 as a CNA.   From the beginning, she was an educator, teaching others as a preceptor.  She taught classes to co-workers and patients on diabetes and weight management.  Her commitment to community health lead her to organize multiple  blood drives.   In 1993, Heidi became a Registered Nurse.

As an RN she worked in a skilled nursing facility, labor and delivery, primary care, and the emergency setting.  In 2004 she went back to school for her BSN, then MSN.  She completed her post-Masters cerificate in 2012 to become an FNP-C. She has worked as an FNP-C in rural community health centers, the St Croix Ojibwe Tribal Health Center, as well as privately owned clinics.   Living in Wisconsin, she has developed expertise in tick-borne diseases, one of the most complex chronic syndromes known to modern medicine.

Heidi has been married to her husband for 30 years and they have raised a girl and three boys.  She loves hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and the great outdoors.   Among her impressive array of skills, she is a good enough shot to put venison on the table while eight and half months pregnant.
