About Thyroid & Adrenal Function Testing
According to the American Thyroid Association, over 12% of the US population will develop some form of thyroid disease during their lifetime. Between 2012 and 2019, reported instances of Hypothyroidism in the adult female population rose from 14.1% to 17%. Secondary adrenal insufficiency is a common and under-diagnosed byproduct of thyroid related conditions. In fact, adrenal insufficiency isn’t even recognized by the health community. Even more-so, we see in our population of chronically ill patients, that secondary adrenal insufficiency is nearly always present.
Modern society leaves us regularly exposed to endocrine disrupting toxins, such as the synthetic fabrics in our clothes, the artificial additives in our food supply, the flame retardants found almost everywhere (clothes, furniture, electronics), etc… Patients with hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue may experience fatigue, weight gain, inability to lose weight, poor mental focus, depression, low libido, dry skin, and much more.
Current traditional testing methodology and subsequent treatments, for thyroid function and conditions, are insufficient and ineffective at both diagnosing and aiding patients in healthy function. We offer comprehensive thyroid and adrenal testing, and 1:1 plans of care for:
- Those who have already received a diagnosis indicating impaired thyroid or adrenal function
- Those who suspect impaired thyroid and/or adrenal function
- Those who believe their function is fine, but want to stay on top of things

Testing & Treatment
Thyroid & Adrenal Function testing starts with a comprehensive bloodwork panel. Further saliva testing could be ordered, but is not always necessary. Bloodwork is carried out at a lab local to you, and saliva testing would be conducted through RUPA, who would send a kit to you in the mail. The result interpretations guide the treatment plans that patients undergo to alleviate symptoms and conditions experienced due to any imbalances or fatigue. Plans are customized to the individuals needs.
Program Information
After registering for treatment, patients are contacted by our office staff, who triage patients based upon a description of their needs. In this case, patients would be identified for Thyroid & Adrenal Function analysis, pay the fee for the initial appointments, and then have a lab order sent to them through their patient portal. Once patients have their tests carried out, they should contact the office staff again to schedule their initial hour long consult. In addition to an hour long consult, patients will also have a 30 minute followup to be used at some time in the future (usually 3-6 months) to determine how treatment is working. Future testing may be ordered. After these initial two appointments, patients may continue to follow up with the provider, paying for appointment on an as-needed basis
