About Theresa Rose FNP-C...
Theresa Rose FNP-C, graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Washington in 1996. Her early career was a testament to her dedication and versatility, spanning a diverse range of nursing environments. From outpatient clinics to the delicate care of neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, and then to the high-stakes world of adult ICU, Theresa honed her clinical skills and developed a deep understanding of patient needs. Her experience subsequently expanded to the dynamic role of a flight nurse, where she provided critical care in airplanes and helicopters across California, Washington, and even the rugged terrain of Alaska.
However, despite her extensive experience and commitment, Theresa found herself facing a personal health crisis that the traditional medical system seemed ill-equipped to address. She felt lost within the traditional healthcare system and was faced with healthcare providers who overlooked her story and dismissed her symptoms telling her she was ‘normal’ when she knew something was wrong. Years of enduring a myriad of health issues, met with responses like, “Your labs look normal,” or the dismissive, “Are you sure this isn’t psychogenic?” left her deeply unsatisfied and questioning the prevailing healthcare paradigm.
The principles of functional medicine not only offered her a path to healing but also ignited a profound sense of purpose. Functional medicine saved her life and ignited a passion within her to make a difference in the lives of others who share similar experiences and health challenges. This passion fueled her decision to return to academia, graduating from the University of North Dakota in 2013 as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
As an FNP-C, she gained invaluable experience working in urgent cares and the ER, further solidifying her understanding of acute health issues. Her subsequent time in several functional medicine clinics allowed her to delve deeper into the principles of treating the whole person, culminating in her current role at Leading Edge Clinic.
Theresa is dedicated to functional medicine, both in her practice and through continuous learning. She is a Certified Health Coach through the IFM’s Functional Medicine Coaching Academy and a certified practitioner in functional medicine through the Functional Medicine Academy.
In today’s fast-paced and increasingly toxic environment, Theresa understands more than ever the critical need for an integrative approach to health and wellness. She recognizes that true healing, not just temporary relief, is what everyone deserves. Theresa’s journey is a powerful testament to the functional medicine philosophy, making her a compassionate and knowledgeable advocate for those seeking profound and lasting health.
Theresa is very honored to be part of the Leading Edge Clinic.
