Anthony Fazio, L. Ac., D.A.O.M. (c) CTP is nationally certified and licensed to practice acupuncture and Chinese medicine in NY and NJ.
He began his studies of Asian healing arts in 1987, at the Ohashi Institute of Shiatsu, completing the advanced shiatsu levels and basic instructor training. In 1991 he began his acupuncture and herbal training at Tristate Institute in Connecticut and later at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in NYC.
He is trained in diverse acupuncture styles including Vietnamese, People’s Republic of China (Traditional Chinese Medicine-TCM), Korean, Japanese, and Classical Chinese. In 1996, he traveled to China to study at Heilongjiang College of Acupuncture in Harbin.
Upon his return to the US, Anthony pursued further education in Classical Daoist Herbology, studying for three years with Jeffrey Yuen at the Swedish Institute in NYC.
In 2000, Anthony and his family moved to Ithaca, NY, where they established a private practice, Peaceful Spirit Acupuncture. Anthony has continued his study with Master Yuen, and has also studied techniques of ancient acupuncture with Edward Neal, M.D., L. Ac.
In 2016, he was admitted to a regionally accredited doctoral program of acupuncture and Asian medicine, located in Austin, TX. He traveled to Austin to study at the AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine. Anthony is a D.A.O.M. candidate in this program; his area of research is pre-Han dynasty treatment methods of infectious diseases.
Anthony has studied martial arts for over thirty years, including Aikido, Iaido, Classical Yang style Tai Ji Quan, Wu/Hao style Tai Ji Quan, and both Daoist and Buddhist Qi Gong.
