Holistic Respiratory Therapy Consults

Mark Bishofsky, RRT-CRT, graduated from Western College in La Crosse, WI, in 1999 with a Respiratory Therapy degree. He has worked in critical care for 25 years, including adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations. He worked through the pandemic in an ICU and has a clear understanding of ventilators and the chronic damage that mechanical ventilation can do to the lungs. Mark has extensive experience working with a variety of pulmonary diseases and has worked in pulmonary rehabilitation, where he helped thousands of patients understand and successfully navigate their pulmonary disease. Though Mark has spent decades working in the conventional medical system, he understands that there are alternative approaches to these respiratory diseases that can help people live more vibrant lives.

Mark has many years of experience teaching people about their diseases, how to use respiratory medicines and devices, and how diet and lifestyle choices can affect their health.

Mark likes to point out that, as human beings, we breathe around 25,000 times per day.  Breathing is arguably the most important activity you do, and you do it all day and night without even thinking about it. Breathing is one of the few things you can do both consciously and subconsciously, and the quality of your breath can have profound effects on your overall health. Mark is a breathing fanatic!

To put things more bluntly, not being able to breathe freely is probably the worst thing that can happen to a human being. When breathing becomes difficult, when it produces suffering, nothing else matters.

With his thorough understanding of pulmonary diagnostics and disease processes, Mark can help you live and breathe easier by integrating conventional and alternative interventions. Mindfulness, diet, lifestyle, medicines, supplements, and a variety of breathing techniques will be discussed during your appointment.

Whether you are dealing with pulmonary fibrosis, emphysema, asthma, bronchiectasis, or an acute respiratory illness, Mark can help you breathe easier.

Mark lives in Minnesota with his amazing wife and three little boys. When he is not working, he is devoting his time to learning more about health and spending time with his family.
